Top 100 YouTubers by Subscribers
YouTube is massive and we are sure that you are more than aware of that fact. However, what you may not be aware of is just who are the most subscribed channels because there is a pretty good chance that it is going to be people that you never imagined would be anywhere near the top mixed in with some pretty familiar faces.
Considering how many channels are out there on YouTube, the fact that a number of people have tens of millions of followers does mean that they are very much celebrities in their own right.
A lot has been said about who appears at the top of the pile, a Swedish gamer by the name of PewDiePie. He has over 47 million subscribers and is known to make an absolute fortune each and every year from advertising via his channel. He has been the top of the pile for some time and he is also the yardstick that people use when it comes to trying to get more followers.
However, quite close behind is the Movies channel with 44 million subscribers and in the land of YouTube that is still a lot of people. Perhaps the most surprising thing is that we have to go down as far as number 5 in the list before we get the channel that is attached to an actual star. In this instance, the star that is at the pinnacle of the top 100 YouTubers is Justin Bieber with 23 million subscribers and that is a massive drop from the figures that those above him are able to achieve. He is then closely followed by Rihanna and her own channel but by the time we move out of the top 10 things do change and the number of subscribers that can make a difference becomes rather small to say the least.
What we see is a real mix between established celebrities that understand the power of YouTube mixed in with interests that people have and also those individuals that are celebrities just entirely because of YouTube. Now, of course the person at the top falls into that last category but there are countless others that make up a reasonable percentage of the top 100 YouTubers and that to many is a rather cool change from other social media where known stars completely dominate.
But what do you need from a subscribers numbers point of view to even trouble the top 100 list? Well, considering the average number of subscribers is very little then the prospect of you getting the 8 million subscribers to usurp rezendeevil from the list is going to be pretty far-fetched.
However, here is one very important point to keep in mind when it comes to the number of subscribers. Just because an individual has a lot of subscribers it does not always translate into them getting the most views. Indeed, YouTubeSpotlight has 24 million subscribers and yet it has only 830 million views. Rihanna on the other hand has 2 million less subscribers and yet has over 9 billion views so at times this is perhaps not the fairest of comparisons.
Also, they do not have to be the most influential and the difficulty is that some channels are experiencing better growth than others as they have been around for a shorter period of time and yet have managed to break into the top 100 YouTubers.
The one thing to take from checking out the list, and remember that it is going to move around a bit as at times we are only talking about a few thousand subscribers between places, is that there is a real mix of likes on there. Who would have ever thought that somebody about games and silly things would be at the top and beating international pop stars?
Perhaps the coolest thing is that YouTube does give anybody a potential voice and it is up to them how they then run with that opportunity. This list shows that while there may be a great deal of professionalism in there, you will still find people that started off making their own videos and have since watched it evolve into quite an impressive thing.
